Medical Device Consultants, Inc. (MDCI) is a leading contract research organization serving medical device companies. MDCI offers consulting on regulatory affairs and clinical research management services. At the time of the search the company was privately held.
MDCI needed a new leader for its regulatory services business after the previous director was recruited to run regulatory affairs at a Fortune 500 medical device company.
As a consulting firm, MDCI had special requirements. In addition to finding someone with outstanding knowledge of the regulatory affairs landscape, the company needed an extrovert who could manage people internally, manage clients, and generate new business.
Travis & Company met with MDCI’s owner and other executives who would be involved in the search. We developed a deep understanding of the their requirements and the type of individual who would work well in the company’s culture.

The director provided strong leadership to the team. She was rapidly promoted, and was instrumental in helping the company win important new accounts, and continue to deliver the high quality of services for which the company was known.
